Were Will They Be Next?
I started with the idea of having one bracelet on a journey to spread positive energy and good thoughts after my surgery in May 2012. I was scared, I feared the worst of all possible outcomes. Cancer, even at it's best is not an easy thing to face.
After posting about what I was facing on my Beaded Bear's Nonsense blog, I received so many well wishes as comments on the blog, emails and even cards by snail mail.
I wanted to pay back in some fashion those good vibes I could not have done without. One bracelet became two, then four, and now.... there are 24 traveling the world!!
All I know is, is that this is a good thing. The bracelets are traveling all over the world.
I hope this continues on for a good long time.
Who can't use some Positive Energy and Good Karma?

Help Marcia with her goal to host all 10 bracelets!! Can she do it?? With your help she can. So far she has hosted:
Just in case someone has no idea of who to pass on one of the bracelets to, you can add your name here in the comments section. Perhaps someone will choose you to have the bracelet next!
PLEASE USE THIS AREA ONLY TO LEAVE YOUR NAME AND CONTACT INFO. Perhaps what state or country you are from would be nice too. This is where someone may come to choose you. If you do not leave an email, you cannot be contacted!
If you do get a bracelet, your name will be taken off the list so that others will have a chance.
DO NOT sign up if you do not FULLY intend to take part. The "RULES" are simple. Let me know VIA EMAIL (NOT FACEBOOK) that you have the bracelet. You keep the bracelet for 1 week. Take some pictures to email to me along with a report of your week with the bracelet. Then pass it on to someone who would like to take part. If you do not want to/cannot do this PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP OR ACCEPT THE BRACELET WHEN IT IS OFFERED TO YOU. An "instruction/informational" booklet accompanies the bracelets with all the details needed.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to get the Deruta bracelet to remind me of the great time I had with a group of 14 (Maggie Meister was our guide)as we traveled together in Italy. Deruta was one of my favorite (too short) stops; a beautiful town with the new at the bottom of the hill and the old, ancient town up the hill. You can contact me at moon2bead (at) charter (dot) net.

ReplyDeleteOn August 27th (my birthday) I am planning to take my first trip on the Maid of the Mist which runs in the Niagara River below the American and Canadian Falls. (We will be enjoying the views you might have most recently seen in the televised Nik Wallenda tightrope walk in June.) If there's a bracelet that would like to make the trip with me (since I can't seem to interest any family member in doing it), it can come visit for that week. You can reach me at scot deerie (at) verizon (dot) net Remove the space between the two words that make the "username" at the beginning and close up the rest per the usual email patterns. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a blog. Very interesting and all of the bracelets are beautiful. It's hard to pick one that stands out. I'm a North Dakotan and have traveled from one end of the USA to the other end. I have settled in Arizona for now, but who knows when I'll pick up and head for somewhere, North, South, East or West. So much beauty in America yet to see.

ReplyDeleteWell I must dutifully add my name to this list, as I want all of the traveling bracelets over time! I currently have Memories of Istanbul, and the book that comes with the bracelet, with photos of all of them, enticed me to want a visit with each of them. If you are so inclined, you can support my goal of receiving all ten at some time in their journeys, email marcia at decoster dot org no spaces, replace the at and dot with punctuation. I know it will always be a hard choice, I want to send the one I have to each person on this list, many of whom I know, which is crazy to me, this big wonderful bead community of ours!

I posted a while ago that I would love to get the Deruta Bracelet--if I do I'll send it to Marcia--don't think she's had this one yet!!
ReplyDeleteBut, the other one I'd like to have is the Asian Crane as this was the design of my very first beaded amulet bag. I walked into my favorite needlework shop and there on the wall were these wonderful little bags. I KNEW I had to do this so I got a quick lesson in circular Peyote around the toilet paper tubes, picked out a pattern and bought the book, beads, thread, needles to do it. The book was Sig Wynne-Evans' "The Magical Amulet Bag' and I went on to do 4 more of the bags in this book and by then I was hooked and haven't quit beading since!!
Deruta is presently enroute to a far off country. I am hoping that it will arrive there SOON!!
DeleteBut perhaps the person who is awaiting Deruta will send it to you!! You just never know who people will pick for the next person.
I am happy you were able to learn to bead from my book!! That is terrific. Keep beading!!

I just found your blog via Beading Daily and would love to be a part of this amazing journey. I already know who I would pass it on to if I were selected. What a wonderful way to pass on the healing powers each bracelet holds. I love it. charitymharrison@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteSaw this on Beading Daily-what a wonderful concept! I have been beading for several years now and am currently undergoing cancer treatment so would love the positive energy and healing of these traveling bracelets. My jewelry making keeps me going! I hope to receive one for a visit! cgilbride13 (at) gmail( dot) com
ReplyDeleteI love the project. Currently,I am undergoing cancer treatments and I am hesitate to request a bracelet because my travels are so limited (to doctors visits, chemo, radiation, in bed and back to the doctor). Since ths project was created during your healing, have you ever thought of creating a bracelet just for patients currently in treatment (an angel image would be perfect). We need the inspiration. I have been beading while I am ill and it really helps.

If you would like to do this please contact me at beaddoll@yahoo.com and I will give you her information
ReplyDeleteThank you in advance Joanne Goldberg
I am putting my hand up again to receive a bracelet..but it is for a very specific one..
ReplyDeleteThe Aboriginal bracelet. Being that I'm Australian - this one is very significant to me...and especially to a place I lived near for nearly 20yrs - the Dandenong Ranges here in my home town.
There is a very very special place up there called the William Ricketts Sanctuary. William Ricketts was a reknowned clay Artist and Sculptor, and he also had a very close bond with the Aboriginal people having lived with them for many years in Central Australia.
It would be wonderful to take the Aboriginal bracelet to this beautiful and tranquil sanctuary...and it would be an honour to receive it..
...and - the weather here now is starting to be wonderful!...this time hopefully no rain!!..lol hmm!..maybe I could join Marcia in trying to have all the travelling bracelets visit the opposite end of the world!!..:)
many thanks and cheers

I was fortunate to host the Indian Paisley Traveling Bracelet for her second week on the road. I would love to host all the bracelets but I would like my younger sister Rhea to have the opportunity to feel the healing power of a bracelet. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and will celebrate her first year of being cancer free. I love my sister with all my heart.
ReplyDeleteThanks-Jan HP (janallanp@aol.com)
I would love to have any of the bracelets visit our house. My mother and mother-in-law died just a few months ago. Both had cancer. My husband has been quite ill for the past 6 years, and my son was just diagnosed with an autism spectral disorder. We don't get anything as far as financial help as my husband is a resident - not a US citizen. He is a UK citizen. I work 60+ hours a week and sadly have no time to bead. I am the sole support of my family and we could use some good energy in this house/home/family.
ReplyDeleteThank you,

Hi - I could so use some positive healing energy and I sincerely believe that these bracelets are the source of that. From all that I have read on this blog I have come to believe that each wearer leaves a very important part of their soul in these beautiful cuffs by wearing them in special places. I would love to take one with me to Zion National Park where I go often to send my prayers on their way. Thanx in advance to the wearer who feels I might be worthy. I can be reached at: themcclorys@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI'd love to host any or all of the bracelets. I promise that in spite of Columbus Ohio not really being the most BEAUTIFUL place in the world, I'll take them to see the best the city has to offer.

I've just learned about the fabulous Traveling Bracelets this morning after seeing Nancy Dale's post. I absolutely love the concept and would be so honored to host any one of these beautiful and inspiring bracelets. I live in the tropics of Miami, Florida and belong to a guild of jewelers and beadweavers who would be delighted to 'meet' and be a part of this ongoing adventure. I promise to keep the bracelet safe from hurricanes and alligators, though perhaps a trip to the Everglades would be in order :)

What a fantastic idea - I would love to take one on a tour of my home town of Barnsley in Yorkshire UK- my family have lived in this area since at least 1763 working initially as weavers and as a weaver of words and beads I feel I can show and tell some lovely poignant places. I am also a reiki teacher and practitioner so would make sure to add some extra healing vibes to it :) my email is chris at chrislinacre dot co dot uk
ReplyDeleteWHAT a wonderful project ~ I would be honored to infuse it with love and joy. Where will we go? I live in New England by a large waterfall that I have always know has healing properties. It would be lovely to sit with it at the top of the waterfall and feel the energy pour forward. I would also wear it while walking the field behind the old high school. This is where my son and my father enjoyed their glory days - where my son played baseball and my father played football. Both have passed on and I recently spread my fathers ashes here. I want to introduce the bracelet to people in my circle that understand and respect the power of prayer, love, hope, kindness.
